Majid (name changed to protect his identity), a DP service user from Afghanistan, had been accessing DP for more than a year
He fled the Taliban, has lost family members and is trying to search for other family members still in Afghanistan. This has left him with trauma. Whilst sitting in a local park he was stabbed and now has a deep scar on his left shoulder.
This has left him anxious and fearful, especially when he had to go to an interview at the Police station while the Police investigated the case.
Our Caseworker liaised with his solicitor regarding his case and did a referral for him to have some counselling/therapy sessions.
His GP gave him medical support, and he was better able to settle into the Bolton community and at DP.
M said he feels safe at DP as everyone is friendly and welcoming.
