David O' Keeffe has been an integral part of the Destitution Project (DP) for many, many years.
On Wednesday October 9th, a celebration was held at the Victoria Hall to thank him for his many years of dedicated and enthusiastic service.
David has now retired as a 'proud' DP volunteer (as he describes himself), but he will continue as a Trustee until early 2020.
Friends, DP staff and volunteers, and our many service users gathered to present David with cards and gifts. The asylum seekers and refugees sang a song and two large cakes were enjoyed by all. Many words of love and appreciation were spoken in praise of David for all the hard work, joy and commitment he had brought us over the years. It was a lovely day for everyone.
We got to show David how much he means to all of us at the DP family!
