The last year has not been an easy one for the food room at the Destitution Project (DP). The economic climate has severely affected the amount of donations we receive. As a result, we have had to make drastic reductions to the size of the food parcels that we distribute to Bolton's asylum seekers in need who visit our Wednesday Drop-in.
Nevertheless the really great news is that we are still wonderfully supported in this part of DP's work by a number of sources.
We are helped on a regular basis with donations of money and non-perishable goods from various churches, schools and other organisations in Bolton. The Triangle Methodist Church recently delivered our first contribution of Harvest gifts for the year. We also had a generous monetary donation recently from the Christ Church Players. We have many individuals who drop off bags of provisions at our reception desk at the Victoria Hall each Wednesday. Every bit helps!
To everyone concerned, we cannot thank you enough for your gifts. Without you DP would be unable to provide much needed and much appreciated food parcels each week.
