Extraordinary day! Perhaps it is a day like any other day for many people around the world, and even for those named after them.
Those who live with worries that are too great to remember that there is a specific time to celebrate them, their struggles, and their relentless efforts to escape from the painful reality they lived in their home countries To a future that they dream of being bright, filled with tranquillity, and fear seeping out of their souls to achieve a dream of a better reality for them and their families.
This is a fact, but on the other hand, there are those who plan well in advance to make it an unforgettable day, not only for those being celebrated, but even for those who organize it. I do not think that this matter is only limited to the Destitution Project, which is known by (DP) in the city of Bolton but consider me lucky because working as a volunteer in this place made me attend this celebration twice in a row, and I even had the honour of participating in its organization.
This time, 19th of June celebration was beautiful and expressive. The hall was prepared and decorated with distinctive décor indicating the occasion by Sarah, who was keen to put a beautiful touch throughout the place so that the stage would be ready for a unique day in which the organization provides all the services it used to provide weekly to refugees and asylum seekers, without stress or harm, with a smile and a caring pat from the great mothers of the organization, as well as a celebration that breaks the daily routine, and emphasizes that the human being is the greatest value in this place where everyone works sincerely to improve the reality of refugees and asylum seekers.
That day in the Victoria Hall, specifically on the ground floor, is distinguished by its emphasis on respect for ethnic and racial diversity. When you look from distant at the general view, you find that many have come with a landmark that they have carefully kept confirming their pride in their motherland, which is their traditional clothes that they wear on important ceremonial occasions, And when they mix in their diversity with others, the view, in its bright colours, appears like a beautiful painting or a picture worthy of being placed on the cover of a widely circulated magazine.
This diversity was the most distinguished of this year’s celebration, in addition to other things that highlighted the cultural diversity of the organization’s family, when Sean plays and is accompanied by several refugees singing with great enthusiasm and a sincere smile that is sufficient evidence of the comfort they find here in this place - and I do not want to forget Sean. The cheerful young man who is passionate in searching for answers to questions about cultural diversity, I will miss him very much in the organization, and I will miss the moments we spent after his students’ lessons to chat with me about various topics.
Because it was a different atmosphere and an open day for expressing feelings, the celebration witnessed improvisation with an interlude of folkloric dance performed by one of the nationalities, and everyone enjoyed it.
Although this designated day has its own special impact on everyone’s souls, However, I believe that every Wednesday of every week within the organization is no less important, but rather considered the foundation, Because those in charge of the organization who made it a day they competed to provide service to those seeking it with a smile and sincere feelings of love, and if they were doing it, it is due to the feeling that every good hand they offer returns to them an indescribably beautiful feeling that gives them positive energies that represent fuel for the coming week.
